Bogdan spent 100 days in segregation unit without leaving

Since he had been placed in punitive confinement upon his arrival at the penal colony IK-8 in Ulan-Ude, Bogdan has told several times in correspondence that correctional officers “extend” his time on the block indefinitely by issuing penalties under false pretenses. A disciplinary committee that could transfer Bogdan on strict conditions permanently has not yet been convened, as he receives penalties on a continuous basis to date.

In a letter written on October 3, Bogdan says, “I have no idea of when I will get out of the segregation unit. Something may change by New Year, or it may not.”

Bogdan assures he feels well, and asks not to worry about him too much: “I am in good health, I stay warm and eat enough. I spend time reading and reflecting. We have no sources of news here. Outside our cell, a radio blasts all day, but news are truly seldom on that thing.”

Bogdan reports that the letter room yet again has a dedicated full-time officer, this should improve mail delivery time. You can send a letter regarding current affairs to Bogdan or one of his inmates:
