INTRODUCING MYSELF

My name is Joe or rather its the short version of my name, I'm an Italian man class 74. I'm an independent musician, I play drums and percussion and do also electronic music just for killing time.I've decided to start blogging in English as I want to share information about me and about Italy during this terribile time we are all living now. Actually Italy it's on top of the list of the European countries with more victims at all because of the covid19 at this day here the situation, 162.488 covid19 infected confirmed – 37.130 healed – 21.067 Decease!!!! . The idea with this blog is to fix here my thoughts on this topic and to share with someone else from other part of the world and possibly sharing point of views, I do believe it is more interesting having direct intel from everyday people rather than filtered info by the mainstream media.
Preconditions “First Time I've heard of Covid19”
The very first time I'v heard of covid19 it was from a clip sent to me by a good friend of mine via whatt'sup, this was on January I recall as it's my birthday month. The video contained strong images, law enforcement wearing kind of diving suits stopping citizens, men collapsing in the streets and all around people wearing masks. I have a lot contacts of people from all over the world so I've got in touch with a Chineese friend of mine just to ask about it, she was at the moment, and still is, living in Liverpool U.K. so she can't confirm but not even deny,but still the intel she had was of a fresh hand because her family lives in China but not in Whuan. Whuan?! to be honest I've discovered about the existence of this town just because of the covid19, 11.8 millions of inhabitants then it'd be more appropriate to define it as a Metropolis as so are New York and London. The first consideration I have to make is about how people around me reacted to this thing, considering that the press shyly started to speak about it everyone didn't believed it was for real, I was painted as a fool who believes in everything a guy used to met at the gym said that those videos is a fake, something close to a film script a skilfully designed play to discredit the Asian economic giant. what I want to highlight is the attitude of the media not just Italians ones and of the Italian ruling class, I have reason to believe that goverment delays played a key role unfortunatelly on the spreading of this damn virus. In Italy we have had a growing number of restrictions of freedom because of the goverment delay on dealing with it. From what about the majority of the international press Italy was described as the greaser of the world despite Italy soon has blocked flight from and to China, avoiding the possibility of people cheating by calling at other airports....as it happens indeed, I don't need to mention who but we have seen and important mainstream media publishing a map of the world showing Italy as the epicentre of the pandemic diffusion and of course reaction didn't came too late. It is not a fact of little importance indeed we must consider the economic damage that information alone produces with immediate effects and it is evident that Italy has suffered heavy economic damage due to this misinformation. The virus appeared the first time in China in the local animal market of the city of Whuam presumably it has infected the man because bats, which are consumed as food, were infected with it, now from China it has arrived to Italy in this globalized world it can make sense I mean Italy and China are in business realtionship but all the world have it so it wasn't really clear to me if really Italy was the first Western country that had to deal with covid19. Later on after the damage was done it came out that a young man in Munich, this was reported by a letter from German doctors published in the New England Journal of Medicine on March 5th. The man experienced respiratory symptoms and high fever on January 24th. The symptoms improved and he returned to work on January 27th. On January 20 and 21, she attended a meeting where a colleague from Shanghai was present who remained in Germany from 19 to 22 January without accusing any disturbance.
TO TRACE THE PATIENT ZERO was on top of the list of things to do but the point is that from China the virus followed three different ways one directed to Europe, one to the United States and the third to South, to Korea and Australia. Now Italy its a member of the EU with 27 others countires however we don't have a common protocol of intervention for health emergencies I mean everyone does its own way, I've always heard accusation to China of hiding the truth about the situation, China its a dictatorship so explain delays on sharing info with the rest of the world but are we sure about the seriousness of the EU partners? to be honest it's called EU but the covid19 it wiped out all those rules that apparently defined the EU. First there's not any shared protocol of intervention for health emergencies,we had blocking of freedom of movement of people and goods and block of exports too plus a different approach of institutional helps to sustain the economy, it's a fact all are doing differently. Chrstine Lagarde head of ECB on a public speech declared regarding the increase of spreads “We are not here to close spreads” it was a shameful attack to Italy a country on its knees that provoked a substantial lost of money on the Milan stock exchange, it was such a serious event that even the president of the republic intervened with a brief sentence of condemnation. President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella is a convinced europeanist so of course the speech had a significant impact on Italian people already less convinced about the positive effects of belonging to the EU. ABOUT LIVING WITH COVID19 IN ITALY It's since a month we are living with heavy litimtations of freedom, the very first days people reacted singing and dancing on the balcony or hanging the national flag, usually around 6.00 pm I recall of a guy starting playing music loud and speaking to all like he was the president about the importance of being united or message of hope like 'we shall overcome' etc.etc. Mainstream media didn't miss the chance to use these clips to give the image of a quiet country and it was at that point I've decided to produce a dance tune to play in opposition to the one chosen by the mainstream. Mood soon has changed as things got worse, we have limitations of movement, the goverment of Prime Minister Conte produced different document pass certificate to show to the police in case of a control, we have to justify why we are outside home. You have to show one in case you are going o work, many working place have been shut down, you must keep a meter distance from others people, you must show a certificate in case you are going to do shopping of course, outside shopping center the tail is now a practice, it takes time to do normal things, after a month of this living I can tell people now have enough, tension its solid you can cut it. Another important aspect is the supply of protective sanitary material, which was scarce at the beginning now more or less...., I ordered the masks in the pharmacy to date they have not yet called me. The agency I'm working for just gave me one and this after three weeks. On a hand I have to go at work of course, many others can't do it, on the other there's the risk of getting the sick especially because I'm always running short of necessary stuff to protect me, what can I say I leave it to you occasional reader of this blog. I'm up since early I've drunk my black coffee, the Italian one home made its really strong while I'm writing I'm hearing the news on the background its all about the god damn covid and political debate about it, tonight I'm on a night shift so got to go now to do shopping, unfortunatelly I am a precarious worker and therefore I live with my mother who is old and heart-sick and have to look after her, I must be healthy otherwise I can kill my mother its terrible indeed but one thing I've understood of all this hell, this virus its deadly lethal especially with elders and with those ones whom have serious pathologies already, its almost 10.30 am I'm stopping for now and will return to an update later on I'm not a writer but hope one day when all this would be over someone might find out interesting to read my thoughts of these days.
